Winds In Time
Surefootedness in the Dark, is aided by both comfort and by misery. The Knights journey is one far from the comforts of the Kingdom, so a token from his Maiden does he carry with him. A beacon to guide his path shines brightly when his path is true, providing comfort and sustenance along his journey. Once astray, the beacon dims and the hordes approach. At first, on the horizon, as an initial warning to return to the path. Then, if unheeded, the jackals, and the hyenas appear. Followed by loss of sustenance, the jackals and hyenas become proximate, and are joined by the vultures, the final warning before darkness encloses and the Knight perishes. Yet, it is the increasing dimness which the Knight is of occasionally need, for it strengths his empathy for the others lost in the dark. In the distance, he recognizes the shimmer of Light, and gathering those that he can, returns upon his path.
